Albert Göring (1900-1966), le frère cadet de Hermann, rejeta toute l'idéologie nazie et, usant de l'influence de son frère, permit à de nombreux dissidents d'échapper au régime.

Ses actes de résistance ne furent jamais publiquement reconnus. Selon une autre version (retrouvée dans les archives du KGB et citée dans le livre de Julian Semenov 17 moments du printemps), Albert a utilisé sa position de frère cadet de Hermann, mais dans le but de libérer les gens qu'il trouvait sympathiques.

Une fois, il a envoyé une demande de libération à un chef de camp de concentration, en signant juste « Göring ». Par peur, le chef de camp a fait sortir un ami d'Albert et également un dissident allemand qui avaient les mêmes noms. Cela provoqua un énorme scandale et la SS ouvrit une enquête. Hermann Göring dut user de tout son pouvoir pour faire libérer son frère.
