Berlin, Oct. 16 (JTA) – Chancellory official august 1 law so provides. While the rumblings of revolt were rising from the throats of more than a thousand Protestant ministers in Germany, Reichsfuehrer Hitler is resorting to the time-honored pastime used by rulers in a crisis of whistling in the dark.

"I shall rule Germany for the rest of my life"

The quotation is not directly from the mouth of Hitler. But it came in substance last night from the lips of Dr. Hans Lammers, State Secretary of the Reich Chancellory, in the course of an address before the Academy of Administrative officials.

The statement by Dr. Lammers was based, he said, on the law of August 1, 1934, under which Hitler took over the duties of the late Field Marshal von Hindenburg. This law, he pointed out, means that "previous constitutional provisions on duration of the office were rescinded."
