U.S. Senator Rob Portman urged the Obama administration today to be ‘tougher’ in nuclear talk with the Iranian regime. The U.S. must make it clear that it 'has to stop the Iranian nuclear weapons program.'
In a conference call with reporters, the Portman said any agreement must be 'enforceable and verifiable,' suggesting he is skeptical about what the final agreement may look like.
Portman said what 'we’re hearing' is that the 'administration is prepared to allow Iran to be able to enrich uranium, relatively quickly, let's say in a year's time, to weapon's grade, and that would be very difficult for many of us to be able to support.'
