SUSAN BROWN, who is best known for playing the role of Dr. Gail Adamson Baldwin in the American TV show General Hospital, has died at the age of 86 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease - according to reports.

According to the publication Variety, Susan passed away following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Express.co.uk has contacted ABC asking for comment.
The soap opera native also appeared in shows including spin-off series Port Charles, 902010, as well as Murder, She Wrote.
The star was born in San Francisco, California, back in 1932, and began her career in the small screen in the show From These Roots in 1959.
As well as her successful acting career, Susan also ran an interior design firm.
The actress, who was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1979, starred in General Hospital between 1977 and 1985, and returned in a guest role a number of times before she made her final appearance in General Hospital back in 2004.
Fans and former colleagues alike took to Twitter to pay tribute to the actress following the sad news.
Executive producer of the hit show wrote in view of his 85,900 followers: “It's a very sad day in Port Charles as the wonderful Susan Brown ("Gail Baldwin") passed away today.
“My sincerest condolences to her family and to all who knew this amazing woman. @GeneralHospital.”
Kin Shriner, who took on the role back of Scotty Baldwin back in 1977, wrote: “Sad to say one of my best friends and costars Susan Brown passed away today she played Gail Baldwin @GeneralHospital my mother.
“R.I.P. Susan I will miss all our laughs.”
Jackie Zeman, who plays Nurse Bobbie Spencer in the long-running series, responded to Kin’s heartfelt tribute, telling the star: “Kin I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss Susan too.”
The actor went on to pay tribute to her late co-star, before sharing memories from their time working together with her 35,400 followers: “She was so very special, on set and in friendship.
“I remember all the good times we shared on our @GeneralHospital #GH lunch breaks at at her amazing dinner parties at her beautiful home.
“RIP Susan + God Bless. @kinshriner.”
Meanwhile, fans paid tribute to the late star on the social network, with one writing: “Sadness in Port Charles. Susan Brown is dead.”
Another penned: “So sad to hear this news. She will be missed.
“Susan Brown a distant star shining upon us now. May she RIP.”
A third told Kin Shriner: “So sorry for your loss! Loved Susan Brown and Gail Baldwin. May she rest in peace!”
