Pennick Jack

Jack Pennick (parfois crédité J. Ronald Pennick) est un acteur américain né le 7 décembre 1895 à Portland, dans l'Oregon (États-Unis), et mort le 16 août 1964 à Manhattan Beach, en Californie. Pennick est l'acteur qui travailla le plus avec John Ford ( 41 films). 

Carrière

Armée et Cinéma

Pennick est né à Portland, Oregon, fils du mineur d'or Albert R. et de Bessie (Murray) Pennick. Lui et sa première femme, Grechin, ont eu deux enfants à l'âge de vingt ans. Il a eu un troisième enfant avec sa seconde épouse, Nona Lorraine. Pennick a rejoint le Corps des Marines des États-Unis servant en Chine et pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Dans les années 1920, il travailla comme lutteur de chevaux sur diverses productions cinématographiques avant d'être remarqué par le cinéaste John Ford.

Il a rapidement commencé à travailler comme acteur et conseiller technique militaire. Il s'est réenrôlé dans la marine américaine en septembre 1941, à l'âge de 45 ans. Il fut promu adjudant-chef (photographe en chef) en décembre 1942. Il a servi dans l'unité photographique de campagne du Bureau des services stratégiques sous le commandement de Ford où il a aidé à entraîner et à former les nouvelles recrues de l'unité. Pennick a reçu la médaille Silver Star pour son action en Afrique du Nord. 

Décès

Il est décédé à Manhattan Beach, en Californie, à l'âge de 68 ans.
