Nuremberg Trial Day 2 (1945) Robert H. Jackson Complete Nuremberg Trial Opening (Part 1)
History

On Nov. 21, 1945, Justice Robert H. Jackson delivered his opening statement at Nuremberg. Based on audio recordings from the World Court, here is Part 1 of Jackson's complete presentation. It is to be noted that the courtroom presentation is not identical to the International Military Tribunal transcripts based on his pre-printed speech. There were a few ad-libbed additions, slight variations in wording and on-the-spot omissions. See Prof. John Q. Barrett's "No Poisoned Chalice" article (copyrighted 2013). Part 1 includes Opening remarks and sections entitled "The Lawless Road to Power," "The Battle Against The Working Class," "The Battle Against the Churches," and "Crimes Against the Jew." This  post is further enhanced by images from Court TV's coverage of the Nuremberg Trial on it's 50th anniversary. For further information, see www.roberthjackson.org.
