Wagner Elsa

Elsa Wagner (née Elisabeth Karoline Auguste Wagner le 24 janvier 1881 à Reval, Empire russe, aujourd'hui Tallinn, Estonie ; morte le 17 août 1975 à Berlin) fut une actrice allemande.

Commédienne

Née sous le nom d'Elisabeth Karoline Auguste Wagner le 24 janvier 1881 à Reval, dans l'actuelle Tallinn, en Estonie, Elsa Wagner a suivi une formation auprès de Maria Spettini à Saint-Pétersbourg, en Russie, avant de faire ses débuts d'actrice à Berlin, en Allemagne, en 1901. Dans En plus de ses performances en tournée avec plusieurs productions théâtrales, dont Faust et Peer Gynt, elle a ensuite décroché des rôles dans plus de 140 longs métrages, dont Das Cabinet Des Dr. Caligari (Le Cabinet du Dr Caligari) de Robert Wiene et Karl Heinz. Martin's Von Morgens bis Mitternachts (Du matin à minuit) en 1920, Das Brennende Acker (La Terre brûlante) de F. W. Murnau en 1922, Die Buddenbrooks de Gerhard Lamprecht et I.N.R.I. en 1923, et Atlantik de 1929 de E. R. Dupont.

Décès

Wagner est décédé à Berlin le 17 août 1975 et a été enterré au cimetière Dahlem.
