Fox Michael

Myron Melvin Fox, dit Michael Fox, est un acteur américain, né le 27 février 1921 à Yonkers (État de New York) et mort le 1er juin 1996 à Woodland Hills (Los Angeles), d'une pneumonie. 

Acteur

Michael Fox naquit le 27 février 1921 à Yonkers, New York de Jacob Fox, un commerçant d’origine Autrichienne et son épouse, Josephine Berkowitz. Il était le cadet de quatre enfants et le troisième fils. Michael Fox commença sa carrière d’acteur dans le sud de la Californie vers 1945. Grâce à ses efforts théâtraux, il rencontra Harry Sauber qui l’introduisit auprès de Sam Katzman. Deux de ses rôles réguliers furent celui du médecin-légiste dans la série judiciaire Perry Mason et celui de Saul Feinberg dans le soap opera Amour, gloire et beauté de 1989 à 1996. Parmi ses premières apparitions télévisuelles figure l’avant-dernier épisode de Superman, dans le rôle du chef de file d’un gang criminel qui essayait de mener une série de tentatives de crimes du genre Perils of Pauline contre les divers protagonistes de la série.

Il apparut aussi dans plusieurs épisodes de 1955 à 1957 de la série Science Fiction Theatre. Michael Fox apporta aussi une importante contribution au champ scolaire éducatif, en tant que l’acteur qui incarna le "Docteur Myron L. Fox" dans une étude qui devait lancer le Dr. Fox effect, et qui participa aussi à l’éclosion de matières supplémentaires dans au moins un suivi des études. Dans la démonstration initiale de cet effet, Michael Fox animait une conférence engageante et expressive qui ne contenait aucun contenu significatif et pourtant, l’audience l’évalua autant que la conférence d’un authentique professeur. Le Dr. Fox effect a souvent été cité comme une critique de la validité des évaluations scolaires de l’enseignement.

Vie privée

Il fut marié à l’actrice Hannah Jacobson du 26 janvier 1947 à sa mort. Il l’avait rencontrée alors qu’il se produisait sur les planches dans The Dybbuk, dans le théâtre de Los Angeles dirigé par Lou Smuckler, beau-père de Lee J. Cobb. Ayant emprunté le véhicule de Dorothy Gish, Michael Fox emmena Hannah auprès d’un juge et l’épousa entre les représentations de la matinée et de la soirée de The Story of Mary Surratt.

Décès

Michael Fox décéda d’une pneumonie le 1er juin 1996, à Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, Californie. Sa mort fit partie du script d’Amour, gloire et beauté.
