Échec au roi (Rob Roy, the Highland Rogue) est un film américano-britannique réalisé par Harold French, sorti en 1953, librement adapté de l'histoire de Robert Roy MacGregor et du roman historique Rob Roy (1817) de Walter Scott. Au début du XVIIIème siècle, dans les Highlands d'Ecosse. Rob Roy, opposant à l'oppression anglaise, échappe au Duc de Montrose. Suivant les conseils du Duc d'Argyll, il parvient à convaincre ses hommes de mettre fin à la bataille. Le nouveau rançonnement.
