Comme tous les membres de la famille Delano, elle descend de l'immigrant huguenot Philippe de La Noye (1602-1681).

Elle est connue pour ses nombreux rôles au cinéma et à la télévision, tels que le sergent Barbara Semanski dans la série télévisée CBS Northern Exposure et Roberta "Bobbi" Glass dans la série télévisée The WB Popular. Outre Bobbi Glass et sa sœur jumelle, l'infirmière Jessi Glass, dans Popular, elle a joué le rôle d'Hilda, une agente du FBI engagée pour protéger Sami Brady, dans Days of Our Lives. Elle a également fourni la voix de Big Barda dans Batman : The Brave and the Bold et de la super-héroïne Pantha dans Teen Titans.
