Young James

James Young est un réalisateur, acteur et scénariste américain, né le 1er janvier 1872 à Baltimore (Maryland) et mort le 9 juin 1948 à New York. 

Réalisateur

Réalisateur, acteur et scénariste américain de l'époque du cinéma muet. Avant de se consacrer au cinéma, il mena une brillante carrière d'acteur de théâtre, se produisant à Broadway et dans tout le pays. Il est également l'auteur d'un ouvrage de référence sur le maquillage théâtral, paru en 1905. Entre 1912 et 1928, il réalisa plus de 90 films et joua dans 60 autres entre 1909 et 1917.

Vie privée

Sa première épouse était la librettiste Rida Johnson Young, qui collabora souvent avec Victor Herbert. Sa seconde épouse était l'actrice Clara Kimball Young, de dix-huit ans sa cadette, qui conserva son nom de famille après leur divorce.

Décès

James Young mourut à New York le 9 juin 1948.
