Albert S. Rogell

Albert S. Rogell est un réalisateur, producteur et scénariste américain né le 21 août 1901 à Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (États-Unis), mort le 7 avril 1988 à Los Angeles (Californie). 

Réalisateur

Rogell a débuté sa carrière à Hollywood à l'âge de 16 ans comme assistant du réalisateur et producteur George Loane Tucker. En 1923, il passe à la réalisation avec « The Greatest Menace ». Il travaille ensuite pour Universal Pictures, puis pour First National Pictures. Plus tard, il collabore avec Columbia Pictures et réalise des films patriotiques pour Republic Pictures pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

En 1950, sa réputation est ternie lorsqu'il se joint à un groupe de réalisateurs qui militent pour la destitution de Joseph L. Mankiewicz de la présidence de la Screen Directors Guild, ce dernier s'étant opposé à l'instauration d'un serment d'allégeance. Rogell se tourne alors vers la télévision dans les années 1950, réalisant des épisodes de « Broken Arrow » et de « My Friend Flicka ». Il était l'oncle du producteur Sid Rogell.
